Dr Tristan Hotham is an independent researcher who studies digital political campaigning: how parties and campaigners use social media, advertising and data to reach voters. He works on the regulation of big tech and critical digital infrastructure. He holds a PhD from the University of Bath (2021).

His open preprints, covering British elections, party leaders and polling, YouTube, targeted advertising and populist parties across Europe, are on Zenodo and Google Scholar, with plain-English write-ups on the blog.
